Simatai is one of the most popular part of the Great wall. Here you find an unrestored part of the Great wall located on a ridge and mountain tops where you can make many walks. Simatai is located 110 km north-east of Beijing. With a cable car you can go a bit towards the top but you can also walk to it in 20 to 30 minutes. After you went through the gate you take the road to the right or to the left. The road to the right leads you to a higher and to the mostbeautiful part of the wall. From here you have fantastic views. You can walk easier of the left part of the wall.
